Brazilian Soul Crew, B.S.C. for friends and connoisseurs, the talented Claudio Mansur, Edground and Alexandre Zee to be precise, pops up to spread the fresh and precious vibe of quality music. Their referential subgenres go from contemporary to avant-garde: Brazilian and nu-jazz, chill beats and r-grooves with a trace of Latin Afro rhythm, but deep jazz and soulful house sounds give their productions a unique signature groove-laced harmony.
The first meeting was of essence for the roots to bear fruits, and so it happened in the small historic city of Taubaté in the Paraíba valley, eighty miles north-east of São Paulo, Brazil. The seed was planted and ready to grow.
Edground, the DJ and a well read journalist too, counts as one of his blessings in life’s journey the ownership of world-respected Grooveland Music, a label devoted to unveiling the soul of Brazil and its rich and manifold intra-ethnic layers of diversity. Claudio, “the radio show man”, started doing just that in the 90’s when his live mixes were heard on three radio stations. Zee, the technical brain of the trio, stems from the world of drivers, patches, workarounds, software and glitches. His religiosity to details gives us the fresh, crisp and warm Brazilian flavors that embody each of their tracks.
They formalized their relationship as a group and have since given birth to beautiful original gems on Conya Records and Symple Soul. Delicious remix deserts on labels such as Soundmen On Wax, Abicah Soul and Seed are true audio delicacies, just to name a few.
This trio is now headed on a path that leads straight to the center stage of the world’s heart…a path paved with creative soul-centered music.
